A multi-faceted exploration of Beachwood Canyon—home of the Hollywood Sign and hillside village within a sprawling city—Under the Hollywood Sign traces a unique neighborhood from its beginnings a century ago, when ranches and orchards gave way to a community settled by artists, religious seekers and film industry luminaries. Part interpretive history, part wildlife film, part social commentary, the documentary features interviews with residents and notable Angelenos as well as new and archival footage to show a never-before-seen side of Los Angeles.
